Responsibilities

  • Analyze workflow, labor utilization, facility layout, and equipment placement to optimize operations.
  • Partner with engineering, production, and product development to ensure manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to determine equipment, tooling, and materials specifications.
  • Evaluate equipment, materials, and processes to ensure quality and performance standards.
  • Estimate production times, labor requirements, and costs to support planning.
  • Work with production, quality, and management to resolve challenges and improve performance.
  • Use data analysis and statistics to identify trends and forecast production needs.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements for safety, efficiency, and quality.
  • Support production launches, process validation, and introduction of new manufacturing technologies.

Job description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support and optimize production operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for improving manufacturing processes, increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality production. The ideal candidate is analytical, hands-on, and experienced in driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Analyze workflow, labor utilization, facility layout, and equipment placement to optimize manufacturing operations.
  • Partner with engineering, production, and product development teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to determine equipment, tooling, materials, and component specifications.
  • Evaluate manufacturing equipment, materials, and processes to ensure compliance with quality and performance standards.
  • Estimate production times, labor requirements, and manufacturing costs to support planning and operational decisions.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and management teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve operational performance.
  • Utilize data analysis and statistical methods to identify trends, forecast production needs, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance safety, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Support production launches, process validation, and implementation of new manufacturing technologies when applicable.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Preferred

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Frequent walking throughout the production facility.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift materials as needed.
