Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Florida is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to help design and optimize production layouts for Navy Reentry Systems and related programs. You will collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to implement efficient manufacturing processes and advance automation through digital work instructions.

The role emphasizes data-driven improvement, SPC concepts, and meeting DoD requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • US Citizenship is required and DoD Top Secret clearance is needed (active or ability to obtain).
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills to articulate technical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to generate and oversee technical work instructions, ordnance data, illustrated parts breakdowns, BOMs and configurations for Navy Reentry Systems sustainment using authoring software and engineering tools.
  • Review internal and external agencies' technical drawings, source documentation, and work instructions relevant to reentry projects.
  • Ensure delivery of data products to operational facilities; provide project tasking, schedule inputs and risk analysis to stakeholders.
  • Provide problem investigation support for support equipment and hardware issues relative to reentry system.

We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer.

In This Role You Will

  • Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to generate and oversee technical work instructions, ordnance data, illustrated parts breakdowns, group assembly parts list, engineering requirements, DoD requirements, safety, handling and transportation procedures, maintenance procedures, bill of materials, and specific configurations for Navy Reentry Systems sustainment utilizing authoring software and engineering tools.
  • Perform reviews of internal and external agencies technical drawings, source documentation, and work instructions relevant to reentry projects.
  • Ensure delivery to operational facilities of data products for specific projects. Provide project level tasking, schedule inputs, and risk analysis to relevant stakeholders and peers.
  • Provide problem investigation support for support equipment and hardware issues relative to reentry system supported.

The information below reflects the standard job description for this position: Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education
  • No Clearance Required Prior to Start
  • Must obtain and maintain an active DoD Top Secret; US Citizenship is required

Desired Skills

  • Prior Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) or equivalent missile or re‑entry program experience.
  • Strategic Weapons Facility (SWF) re‑entry body operations (RBO) processes.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools, XML, VULCAN authoring.
  • Demonstrated good written communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors and customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment and to build consensus among peers and effective relationships with team members.
  • Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
  • Existing DoD Top Secret clearance.

Pay Information

Full‑Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
