Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Mechanical Engineer focused on propulsion hardware within the FBM program. The role requires collaboration in a team environment and clear communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Experience with engineering lifecycle (SRR, PDR, CDR).
  • CAD experience with CREO or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Missile and/or aerospace education or experience preferred.

  • Collaborate with IPT and stakeholders to drive development, manufacture and management of propulsion hardware.

Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) is one of Lockheed Martin’s best-in-class Lines of Businesses that prioritizes partnership, integrity and reliability. The Mechanical Controls group is an organization within FBM that is responsible for the design and production support of the systems that control the missile both before and after boost.

This position is for a Mechanical Engineer focused on propulsion hardware that collaborates well in a team environment and has excellent communication skills. In this role, you will have numerous opportunities to represent the IPT with our Stakeholders, with many opportunities for career development along the way. The IPT is responsible for the development, manufacture, and management of propulsion hardware within the subsystem.

Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience with engineering lifecycle (examples: SRR, PDR, CDR)
  • Experience with CAD software such as CREO or equivalent
  • Desire and ability to own technical challenges through solution
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
Desired Skills
  • Missile and/or aerospace related education or experience
  • Experience working with procurement and outside suppliers
  • Experience with FBM processes and products
  • Hardware experience including, design, analysis, assembly, integration, and test
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
