Overview

Applications include leading edge technology and next generation power requirements in industries such as alternate energy (wind, solar, fuel cell), datacenter and server power supply design and electrical distribution, electric vehicles, LED lighting, and battery charging.

Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for manufacturing services for new and redesigned products including the selection and implementation of lean processes, new equipment, new tooling, and new manufacturing techniques into production. This position also determines lean, product, equipment, and process improvements to reduce cost, scrap, rework, maintenance, and set-up. The role involves close collaboration with the new product development team. Reports to the Manager, Manufacturing Engineering.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. New Product Projects
    • Schedule, budget, and complete responsibilities for New Product Projects.
    • Provide accurate cost information, review design for manufacturing, ensure design specifications are complete, and assess impact on production departments.
    • Design, order, and implement tooling timely.
    • Coordinate tooling, material, equipment, and methods for processing new products to ensure quality and cost efficiency.
    • Create and maintain the Production Documentation Package.
  2. Lean Process Development and Troubleshooting
    • Lead Kaizens implementing lean tools such as 5S, Poke Yoke, Visual Management, TPM, Quick Change, Single Piece Flow, and Kanban.
    • Review existing products and processes to reduce scrap, rework, labor costs, setup time, quality costs, and lead time.
    • Conduct experiments to optimize manufacturing processes.
    • Prepare cost analyses to justify tooling investments.
    • Troubleshoot tooling, processes, and equipment internally and externally.
    • Manage project schedules and budgets.
  3. Capital Equipment
    • Investigate, specify, and justify purchase of new capital equipment.
    • Coordinate installation and integration of new equipment and processes.
    • Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S. degree in an engineering or technology field (e.g., BSME, BSGE, BSIE)
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience
  • Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, equipment, and tools
  • Ability to manage capital and new product projects from concept to implementation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Project Management experience preferred

The annual salary range is $75,504 - $101,553, based on experience and other factors. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, education reimbursement, wellness programs, 401k with match, pension plan, paid time off, and more.
