Description

Who We Are:

We have operations in Saint Louis, Missouri, Huntington Beach, California, and Milford, Connecticut, serving local, national and international customers, both military and commercial. The company supplies platform controls, aircraft components, liquid oxygen equipment, and emergency breathing equipment to its customers.

Position Summary:

Plans and designs manufacturing processes, tooling and test equipment in industrial plant. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout and design of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Mentors and helps grow Level I and level II manufacturing engineers.
  • Leads projects with multiple engineers assigned to the project.
  • Using SolidWorks, Designs and qualifies fixtures and tooling for assembly and manufacturing.
  • Designs, specifies and qualifies test equipment.
  • Responsible for leading the make or buy decision-making process on new products.
  • Recognizes initiates and creates statement of work for the use of outside vendors and consultants. Internally manages projects with outside vendors and consultants.
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Maintains and manages layout at the facility level.
  • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Project leader on NPD product integration into the manufacturing facility and represents operations at stage gate meetings on medium to large and complex projects.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or related field and a minimum of five years of experience; an advanced degree preferred. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Certification in lean/six sigma preferred.
