Qualifications

Solution Sales Engineer – Manufacturing

Description

As a Solution Sales Executive, you will be responsible for driving growth in the Engineering, Energy Efficiency, Sustainability, Data, and Reporting Teams by offering tailored, high-impact solutions to manufacturing clients. This role involves identifying client needs specific to the manufacturing industry, providing expert guidance on all facets of service offerings, and building strong, long-term client partnerships. The position requires a proactive, client-focused individual with experience in sustainability, strong communication skills, and the ability to navigate customized client needs within the manufacturing sector. This is a remote position, with customer site visits expected.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, sustainability, or a related field is required.
  • A master’s degree or MBA with a focus on sustainability, manufacturing, or industrial engineering is preferred.
  • 7+ years of technical sales experience with a documented track record of successful sales in the manufacturing sector.

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering, sustainability, energy management, or related fields within the manufacturing sector.
  • Documented success developing and executing client-focused solutions in the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with industrial energy efficiency measures, process optimization, and sustainable manufacturing initiatives.
  • Knowledge of energy conservation techniques, renewable technologies, resiliency measures, sustainability reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strategic thinking, leadership, and the ability to influence operations in manufacturing settings.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.

Requirements

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan targeting manufacturing clients.
  • Partner with the outside sales team to drive top-of-funnel activity and close manufacturing sales.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline, meeting or exceeding annual quota.
  • Use technical, financial, and analytical skills to build compelling business cases for manufacturing executives.
  • Understand and respond to operational needs, sustainability goals, and budget constraints of manufacturing clients.
  • Apply knowledge of energy efficiency and manufacturing practices to create cost-saving, sustainability-enhancing solutions.
  • Manage time effectively and stay detail-oriented.
  • Work closely with market managers and subject matter experts to deliver high-value solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools; Salesforce CRM knowledge is a plus or must be willing to learn.
  • Ability to quantify and communicate the financial benefits of sustainability projects.
