Job summary

Dynavac, a leader in high-vacuum process equipment, is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer in Rockland, MA. The role focuses on fabrication, machining, and assembly of complex systems, leveraging SolidWorks and CAD/CAM within an Epicor ERP environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Our systems combine advanced technologies in pressure vessel design, material handling, automation, and integrated control systems.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineerto join our Engineering team. The ideal candidate has experiencein construction and/or manufacturing of complex systems and a comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing systems is essential. This individual must work within the company's integrated cost schedule control program and organize work efforts with the Epicor ERP environment.

Essential Job Functions / Key Responsibilities

  • Strong background in welding and fabrication processes
  • Experience in CAD with particular emphasis on Solidworks
  • Strong background in reading and interpreting shop drawings
  • Knowledge of machine shop operations
  • Advanced methods in layout and metrology
  • Expert knowledge on CAD/CAM
  • Extensive experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems (Epicor a plus)
  • Understanding of an ISO-9001 quality program
  • Define manufacturing plan/sequence early in the project life cycle
  • Identify opportunities to improve design functionality and manufacturability
  • Identify and implement new or upgraded equipment
  • Support Operations team on Make-Buy Decisions
  • Support Operations and Materials Management by working with vendors to solve problems and answer questions
  • Execute top-down manufacturing plan within the Epicor environment
  • Organize release of Work Packages comprised of Bills of Operations (BOO) and Bills of Material (BOM)
  • Propose and implement project-based facility layouts
  • Prepare Manufacturing Methods documents when required
  • Set up parts and assemblies in Epicor
  • Identify test requirements and inspection hold points
  • Coordinate the design and construction of special tooling
  • Standard Work / Process Definition - Own and improve all standard manufacturing WIPs. Create project specific procedures / work instructions concurrent with design.
  • Participate in Design Reviews, align manufacturing execution plan with project objectives
  • Provide technical over-sight to manufacturing processes and participate in problem solving
  • Create Statement of Work to ensure clear understanding of requirements and expectations on subcontracts as required
  • Coordinate Drawing Tree and structure of indented BOM with Engineering Dept.

  • Background in vacuum technology or field installation is a plus.
  • Salary range: $76,000 to $95,000, based on experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ordinary requirements found in an office work environment with frequent work on the manufacturing shop floor.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
  • The employee sometimes works in an open shop environment with no air conditioning and is seasonally exposed to heat.
