Job summary

Vandor in Indiana is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our on-site team and help drive improvements across manufacturing operations. You will work closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Purchasing to improve quality, efficiency, and reliability on the shop floor.

You will lead process development, trials, and problem solving using data-driven methods, DOE and SPC, with a focus on Lean manufacturing and cost reduction. This is an on-site role with standard daytime hours.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent.
  • Strong background in Lean manufacturing, tooling, equipment, materials, and quality.
  • Ability to independently develop new processes and troubleshoot issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with data-driven approaches.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, improve, and document manufacturing processes focusing on quality and efficiency.
  • Lead equipment trials, process validation, and production launches.
  • Troubleshoot production challenges with data‑driven solutions.
  • Use DOE, SPC, and capability analysis to improve performance.
  • Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Improve yield, throughput, and cost efficiency.
  • Support sourcing and implementation of new equipment and automation.
  • Evaluate equipment performance and recommend upgrades or refits.
  • Participate in new product manufacturability reviews.
  • Collaborate across Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Purchasing.
  • Provide technical leadership, training, and mentorship.

Description

Are you an engineer who enjoys solving real-world manufacturing challenges, improving processes, and seeing the results of your work firsthand? We’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join Vandor and help drive improvements across our manufacturing operations.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys being close to the process—working alongside Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Purchasing to improve quality, increase efficiency, troubleshoot challenges, and support new products and equipment.

Schedule: This is an on-site Monday-Friday, 1st Shift Salary-Exempt position. Core business hours are 7:30am to 4:30pm.

What You’ll Do

As our Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Develop, improve, and document manufacturing processes focused on quality, productivity, efficiency, and repeatability
  • Lead and support equipment trials, process validation, product qualification, and production launches
  • Troubleshoot production challenges and develop practical, data‑driven solutions
  • Use DOE, SPC, process capability analysis, and other statistical methods to improve process performance
  • Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Improve yield and throughput while identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve part quality
  • Support the sourcing and implementation of new equipment and automation
  • Evaluate equipment and tooling performance and recommend improvements, refurbishment, or replacement
  • Participate in new product feasibility reviews with a focus on manufacturability, cycle time, reliability, and quality
  • Partner across Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Purchasing to solve equipment, process, and material issues
  • Provide technical leadership, training, and mentorship to Team Members
Requirements
What We’re Looking For

You’ll be a strong fit if you are a self‑starter and problem solver who is comfortable balancing independent project work with hands‑on collaboration on the manufacturing floor.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience
  • A strong technical background in areas such as Lean manufacturing, tooling, equipment, materials, and quality
  • The ability to independently develop new processes and troubleshoot existing production issues
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to turn data into practical solutions
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence working cross‑functionally and providing technical leadership to others
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word
  • A creative mindset and willingness to challenge existing processes and recommend better solutions
