Job summary

Vandor Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our on-site team in Indiana. You will partner with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Purchasing to improve processes, troubleshoot challenges, and support new products and equipment.

You will lead trials, apply statistical methods, and drive Lean improvements to boost yield, throughput, and quality on the 1st shift. A strong engineering background and hands-on approach are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Strong technical background in Lean manufacturing, tooling, equipment, materials, and quality.
  • Ability to independently develop new processes and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with data-to-solution focus.
  • Effective multi-project management and strong written and verbal communication.
  • Capability to provide technical leadership cross-functionally.
  • Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word).
  • Creative mindset to challenge processes and propose improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, improve, and document manufacturing processes focusing on quality, productivity, efficiency, and repeatability.
  • Lead equipment trials, process validation, product qualification, and launches.
  • Troubleshoot production challenges and create practical, data-driven solutions.
  • Apply DOE, SPC, process capability analysis, and other stats to improve performance.
  • Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Improve yield and throughput while reducing costs and improving part quality.
  • Support sourcing and implementation of new equipment and automation.
  • Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements or refurbishment.
  • Participate in new product feasibility reviews focusing on manufacturability and cycle time.
  • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Purchasing to resolve issues.
  • Provide technical leadership, training, and mentorship to team members.

About this position

Description:

Are you an engineer who enjoys solving real-world manufacturing challenges, improving processes, and seeing the results of your work firsthand? We’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join Vandor and help drive improvements across our manufacturing operations.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys being close to the process—working alongside Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Purchasing to improve quality, increase efficiency, troubleshoot challenges, and support new products and equipment.

Schedule: This is an on-site Monday-Friday, 1st Shift Salary-Exempt position. Core business hours are 7:30am to 4:30pm.

What You’ll Do

As our Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Develop, improve, and document manufacturing processes focused on quality, productivity, efficiency, and repeatability
  • Lead and support equipment trials, process validation, product qualification, and production launches
  • Troubleshoot production challenges and develop practical, data-driven solutions
  • Use DOE, SPC, process capability analysis, and other statistical methods to improve process performance
  • Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Improve yield and throughput while identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve part quality
  • Support the sourcing and implementation of new equipment and automation
  • Evaluate equipment and tooling performance and recommend improvements, refurbishment, or replacement
  • Participate in new product feasibility reviews with a focus on manufacturability, cycle time, reliability, and quality
  • Partner across Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Purchasing to solve equipment, process, and material issues
  • Provide technical leadership, training, and mentorship to Team Members
What We’re Looking For

You’ll be a strong fit if you are a self-starter and problem solver who is comfortable balancing independent project work with hands‑on collaboration on the manufacturing floor.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience
  • A strong technical background in areas such as Lean manufacturing, tooling, equipment, materials, and quality
  • The ability to independently develop new processes and troubleshoot existing production issues
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into practical solutions
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and prioritiesStrong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence working cross-functionally and providing technical leadership to others
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word
  • A creative mindset and willingness to challenge existing processes and recommend better solutions
