Job Description:

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Lead process optimization and equipment layout improvements to increase efficiency in assembly and high-voltage test processes.
  2. Develop manufacturing procedures, standard work, and tooling concepts, focusing on repeatability, cost reduction, and throughput.
  3. Identify and resolve manufacturing and testing bottlenecks, working cross-functionally with design engineering, quality, and production teams.
  4. Support the integration of new testing methods and manufacturing technologies into full-scale production.
  5. Monitor key production metrics (OEE, quality, cycle time) and drive corrective actions as needed.
  6. Support root cause analysis, failure investigations, and continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies.
  7. Develop and maintain training materials and work instructions for technicians and operators.
  8. Drive process standardization across product lines to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer.
  9. Provide guidance to junior engineers and participate in process improvement and Kaizen activities.

Your Background:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field required.
  2. 3+ years of experience in manufacturing process development, industrial engineering, or production process optimization.
  3. Strong understanding of process flow, equipment layout design, work standardization, and manufacturing efficiency.
  4. Experience working in high-mix, low-volume or engineered-to-order environments is an advantage.
  5. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles; certification preferred.
  6. Ability to work independently on complex projects and coach less experienced team members.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on, collaborative approach.
  8. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with cross-functional teams (design, test, quality, and production).
  9. Strong time management and project management abilities to prioritize initiatives and drive results.
  10. Flexibility to work extended hours when needed to support production and testing deadlines.

Primary Job Location: This position will support manufacturing and process development activities at Hitachi Energy’s Mount Pleasant, PA facility, with ownership of continuous improvement projects, production process optimization, and cross-functional support for high-voltage product lines.
