Job Purpose: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining manufacturing processes in a hands-on environment. You will collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and design teams to ensure efficient operations, reduce costs, and implement process improvements.

Manager: Mike Murray- Sr. Operations Manager

Experience: 3-5 Years

Annual Salary: $80,000 to $90,000

PTO: 10 Days

Health Insurance: 100% Coverage for Employee

2025 Growth By Sharing: Eligible after 30 days of employment, prorated from start date until next calendar year

401k: Employer contribution of 50% up to 4%. Eligible on the first of the month after 90 days of employment

Paid Holidays : Ten (10) in 2025

Schedule: Full time, M – F, onsite in Oakdale, periodic trips to Vesta Production facility

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Process Design and Improvement:

  • Analyze and understand existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks and areas for optimization.
  • Understand cut and sew manufacturing.
  • Develop and implement new manufacturing processes, including equipment selection, tooling design, and workflow layout.
  • Optimize Cut File Pattern Layouts to minimize fabric waste
  • Familiarity with Gerber AccuMark a plus
  • Create Cut Files for miscellaneous pieces when needed for Warranty / Replacement needs
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure documentation is up to date.
  • Conduct time studies and process capability analysis to identify performance metrics.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to resolve production or quality issues.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies (5S, Six Sigma).

Project Management:

  • Lead new product launch activities, ensuring smooth transition from development to production.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation for manufacturing process improvements.
  • Manage project budgets and deliverables.

Technical Expertise:

  • Proficient in CAD software for design and analysis of manufacturing processes
  • Understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis methods
  • Knowledge of automation and robotics technologies, where applicable
  • Ensure all changes meet safety and compliance standards.
  • Work closely with production operators to troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
  • Collaborate with R&D team to ensure "Design for Manufacturability" principles are followed
  • Partner with Production Management to define and maintain product quality standards

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in cut and sew manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Business Central is a plus

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods in a production environment.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25–50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity is required to use hand tools, operate machinery, and work with small components or fixtures.
  • Ability to work in various physical environments including noise, heat, and exposure to manufacturing equipment.
  • Visual acuity to read technical documents, drawings, and inspect parts or products.
  • Occasional climbing, kneeling, or reaching overhead as required during equipment setup or troubleshooting.
  • May require wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
