Job summary

The ASSA ABLOY Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes and equipment. You’ll support day‑to‑day plant activity while driving strategic improvements that boost quality, productivity, and cost performance.

You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams, lead lean initiatives, and develop standard work. You’ll ensure safety and quality, optimize cell layouts with AutoCAD, and contribute to a smarter, more efficient operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
• 4+ years of experience in metals machining and electronics manufacturing.
• Experience with AutoCAD for work cell layouts and design.
• Strong working knowledge of lean or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Demonstrated success leading cost-saving or process-improvement initiatives.
• Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and make real-time decisions.

Responsibilities

• Review manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and develop/implement improvement initiatives.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, relieve bottlenecks, and address capacity constraints.
• Provide hands-on, day-to-day engineering support to assigned production areas.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions using structured problem-solving tools.
• Design and redesign manufacturing cell layouts for optimal material flow and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain standard work to meet quality requirements and strengthen business continuity.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies while upholding safety and quality standards.
• Communicate effectively across all levels to drive alignment and results.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

Required

• Experience with AutoCAD for work cell layouts and design
• Strong working knowledge of lean or continuous improvement methodologies
• Demonstrated success leading impactful cost‑savings or process‑improvement initiatives
• Proven ability to excel in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and make effective real‑time decisions

Preferred

• CNC programming experience
• Lean or Six Sigma certification
