Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions in Monroe, NC seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes and equipment. You will drive safety, quality, efficiency, and cost improvement while partnering with cross-functional teams on floor-level changes.

Responsibilities include process reviews, applying lean principles, root cause analysis, and cell-layout optimization to ensure robust standard work and continuity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
• 4+ years of experience in metals machining and electronics manufacturing.
• Experience with AutoCAD for work cell layouts and design.
• Strong working knowledge of lean or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and make real-time decisions.
• Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred.

• Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, relieve bottlenecks, and address capacity constraints.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions using structured problem-solving tools.

• Develop and maintain standard work to meet quality requirements and strengthen business continuity.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies while upholding safety and quality standards.
• Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization to drive alignment and results.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

General Description

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the processes and equipment used in our manufacturing operations. This role supports day‑to‑day plant activity while driving strategic improvements that enhance quality, productivity, and cost performance. You’ll collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, bring innovative ideas to the floor, and lead efforts that make our manufacturing systems safer, smarter, and more efficient.

Education and Experience

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)

• Proven ability to excel in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and make effective real‑time decisions

Preferred:

• CNC programming experience
• Lean or Six Sigma certification
