The Manufacturing Engineer analyzes, designs, implements, and optimizes processes and equipment to produce cost-effective & high-quality products. The role also involves developing, designing, and implementing capital equipment projects, providing technical analysis and resolution to engineering problems, supporting manufacturing operations, and guiding production personnel.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with laws, policies, and principles.
  • Identify equipment needs, make recommendations, and prepare financial justifications.
  • Obtain quotes and bids for equipment and services through RFQ processes.
  • Manage projects within time and budget, including communication of status, costs, deadlines, and documentation.
  • Generate designs and drawings in AutoCAD for various project components.
  • Support and troubleshoot machinery to ensure smooth operation.
  • Recommend modifications or replacements to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Stay informed on new research and design methodologies.
  • Design and implement equipment modifications to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Work on-site with travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in project management within manufacturing.
  • Experience in resin web converting operations.
  • Leadership skills in team environments.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with PLCs, vendor negotiations, and machine design.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working within a union facility.
