Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC in Milwaukee is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, implement, and improve processes on the factory floor, acting as the bridge between design engineering and production to ensure new products ramp smoothly and existing products are optimized.

You will focus on maintaining production capability, improving quality, reducing costs, enhancing safety, and maximizing throughput, reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering and 1–6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering; GPA 3.0+ if under 3 years.
• Proficient CAD (Creo / Pro-E), Word, Excel and Access.
• Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma.
• Experience with production line layout is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, support, and lead introduction of products to the manufacturing floor.
• Manage integration of new products into existing lines and optimize line balance and efficiency.
• Develop operation method standards for assembly processes.
• Apply lean concepts to reduce waste and improve manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot production line issues and lead cost-reduction initiatives.
• Support safety and ergonomic improvements on the production floor.

What you will be doing:

• Plan, support, and lead introduction of products to the manufacturing floor. Manages the integration of new products into existing lines with an understanding of new processes effect online balance, pFMEA, and line efficiency.
• Develop Operation Method Standards (i.e. how best to assemble products)
• Uses advanced understanding of Lean Concepts and continuous improvement needed for reduction of waste within manufacturing processes
• Troubleshoot production line problems
• Lead initiatives that mitigate risk, maintain ISO compliance and reduce costs
• Lead design initiatives within the manufacturing process, including line / cell layout, tooling, and part flow
• Capital equipment justification
• Work to advance safety and ergonomic practices

What they are looking for

• BS Engineering and 1 to 6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering (if under 3 years’ experience 3.0+ GPA is needed)
• Proficient computer skills including CAD (Creo / Pro-E would be great), Word, Excel, and Access
• Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma
• Any experience with production line layout would be very helpful
