Job summary

Keystone Distinction Group is recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer in the Milwaukee area to plan, implement, and improve production processes. You will help introduce new products to the floor, develop standard methods, and apply Lean techniques to cut waste and costs.

The role requires a BS in engineering and 1–6 years in manufacturing engineering, with CAD (Creo/Pro-E) proficiency and knowledge of ISO practices. Strong problem-solving and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering and 1–6 years in manufacturing engineering.
• Proficient CAD (Creo/Pro-E), Word, Excel, Access.
• Lean / Six Sigma knowledge.
• Experience with production line layout is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, support, and lead introduction of products to the manufacturing floor.
• Develop operation methods standards for assembly.
• Apply Lean concepts to reduce waste and improve line efficiency.
• Troubleshoot production line problems and lead cost-reduction initiatives.
• Drive safety and ergonomics improvements; justify capital equipment.

As the link between design engineering and the production floor you provide the manufacturing expertise needed to implement the production of new products as well as processing changes to existing products. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

What you will be doing:

• Plan, support, and lead introduction of products to the manufacturing floor. Manages the integration of new products into existing lines with an understanding of new processes effect online balance, pFMEA, and line efficiency.
• Develop Operation Method Standards (i.e. how best to assemble products)
• Uses advanced understanding of Lean Concepts and continuous improvement needed for reduction of waste within manufacturing processes
• Troubleshoot production line problems
• Lead initiatives that mitigate risk, maintain ISO compliance and reduce costs
• Lead design initiatives within the manufacturing process, including line / cell layout, tooling, and part flow
• Capital equipment justification
• Work to advance safety and ergonomic practices

What they are looking for

• BS Engineering and 1 to 6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering (if under 3 years’ experience 3.0+ GPA is needed)
• Proficient computer skills including CAD (Creo / Pro-E would be great), Word, Excel, and Access
• Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma
• Any experience with production line layout would be very helpful
