Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Engineer in McHenry, MS (onsite). This is a 12+ months CTH opportunity with long-term potential, focusing on developing and implementing complex manufacturing processes for high-volume rocket motor assembly.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of manufacturing experience, a technical degree, hands-on capabilities in machining, fabrication, soldering, and assembly, plus proven CI skills and ROI analysis for capital equipment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or product processing.
  • Degree in a technical field such as engineering, math, or a hard science.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver processes on time in a safe manner that meets or exceeds parameters.
  • Continuous improvement and process development skills.
  • Experience manufacturing hardware via machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly.
  • Genuine interest in manufacturing and learning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and implementation of multiple complex manufacturing processes from concept to design.
  • Develop novel processing solutions for high-volume assembly of rocket motors.
  • Establish engineering standards and best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend significant capital equipment with ROI analysis.
  • Manage CapEx projects from concept to implementation.
  • Control project budgets with on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Develop process flows that are safe and high-quality.
  • Write work instructions, quality plans, inspection requirements, etc.
  • Collaborate with contract manufacturers to develop repeatable, scalable processes.
  • Work with technicians and other engineers to develop production-ready processes.
  • Manage and optimize established full-rate production processes.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts across all levels of the organization.
  • Travel to suppliers for sourcing work and quality procedures.

Pay Range: $60 - $65/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of multiple complex manufacturing processes from concept to design
  • Develop novel processing solutions for assembly of solid fuel rocket motors at high volumes
  • Establish engineering standards and best practices
  • Independently evaluate and recommend significant capital equipment with ROI analysisg>
  • Manage CapEx projects from concept to implementation
  • Control project budgets of significant scale with on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Develop process flows, simplifying complex and critical operations into user friendly operations that maintain exceedingly high levels of safety and quality.
  • Write documentation required for successfully manufacturing their hardware at scale, such as work instructions, quality plans, inspection requirements, etc.
  • Work with contract manufacturers across various disciplines to develop repeatable, sustained processes for quick-turn development as well as at-scale production
  • Work with technicians and other engineers hands-on, developing production ready processes
  • Manage and optimize established full rate production processes
  • Communicate complex technical concepts across all levels of the organization
  • Travel to suppliers to do initial sourcing work, solve ongoing production issues, and implement quality procedures as needed
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
  • Keywords: Manufacturing or product processing, soldering, fabrication
  • Degree in a technical field such as engineering, math, or a hard science
  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or product processing
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively deliver processes and products on time in a safe manner that meets or exceeds the required parameters defined by the product
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement and process development skills and techniques
  • Personal experience physically manufacturing hardware via any means (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, etc.) Work on personal or extracurricular projects is a plus.
  • A genuine interest in manufacturing and thirst for learning
