Job summary

Kaleidoscope, an Infosys Company, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Baltimore, MD, to define, control, and validate manufacturing processes for existing and new product introductions in aerospace structures and nacelles.

Required: Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Aerospace/Materials, 8+ years aerospace experience, ISO9000/AS9100 knowledge, GD&T, and Catia/3DX proficiency; strong Lean Six Sigma and RCCA skills to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials, or related engineering field.
  • 8+ years of aerospace structures / Nacelle quality or manufacturing experience.
  • 4+ dedicated Aerospace experience.
  • Define, control, and validate manufacturing processes and operational sequences for existing & New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Hands on experience on implementing control factors such as controls plans & process maps from PFMEA to reduce, detect and control in aerospace structures / Nacelles
  • Analyze cycle times, scrap rates, and labor hours to eliminate waste using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
  • Continuous Improvement using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to reduce waste, improve cycle times and COQ
  • Root Cause, Corrective Action with RCCA tools (PFMEA, DMAIC, Apollo, 5 WHYs, 8D)
  • Manufacturing experience with ISO9000 or AS9100
  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD Software (Catia/3dx)
  • Strong understanding of Aircraft structures / Nacelles, design guidelines, composite and metallic failure modes.

Responsibilities

  • Define, control, and validate manufacturing processes and operational sequences for existing & New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Hands on experience implementing control factors identified from PFMEA to reduce, detect and control in aerospace structures / Nacelles.
  • Analyze cycle times, scrap rates, and labor hours to eliminate waste using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Continuous Improvement to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and lower the Cost of Quality (COQ).
  • Work on Root Cause, Corrective Action with RCCA tools (PFMEA, DMAIC, 8D, etc.).
  • Manufacturing experience including knowledge of ISO9000 or AS9100 and GD&T.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials, or related engineering field.
  • 8+ years of aerospace structures / Nacelle quality or manufacturing experience.
  • 4+ dedicated Aerospace experience.
  • Define, control, and validate manufacturing processes and operational sequences for existing & New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Hands on experience on implementing control factors such as conrols plans & process maps which are identified from PFMEA (Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis) to reduce, detect and control in preferably aerospace structures / Nacelles
  • Analyze cycle times, scrap rates, and labor hours to eliminate waste using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
  • Continuous Improvement: Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and lower the Cost of Quality (COQ).
  • Works on Root Cause, Corrective Action with some guidance using established RCCA tools (PFMEA, DMAIC, Apollo, 5 WHYs, 8D, etc.).
  • Manufacturing experience, including knowledge of ISO9000 or AS9100.
  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD Software (Catia/3dx preferred)
  • Strong understanding of Aircraft structures / Nacelles, design guidelines, composite and metallic failure modes.

Preferred Skills

  • Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical views that translate raw data into clear operational insights and recommended actions.
  • Familiarity with digital QMS / PLM tools
