Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Marietta, GA seeks an engineering leader to develop and implement manufacturing processes and layouts for assemblies and equipment installation. You will drive automation, robotics and CAM adoption to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and raise quality.

You will analyze 3D model data, leverage materials knowledge, and build sequences to optimize operations. Strong leadership and cross-functional liaison skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or related field
  • Experience leading ops and working strategically/tactically
  • Previous lead/leadership experience
  • Liaison between Production Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling, Design Eng., Quality Eng., SQM, Suppliers
  • Experience building positive customer relationships
  • Experience addressing technical and process issues

Job description

Standard Job Description Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering field
  • Experience working strategically; as well as tactically to drive operations
  • Previous lead/leadership experience
  • EXperience as a liaison between Production Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling, Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, SQM, Suppliers and Feeder Operation Sites
  • Expereince building positive relationships with the customer
  • Expereince analyzing and resolving technical & process issues Desired Skills
  • 8+ years of experience in an technical lead/supervisory/managerial role
  • Experience with the Aeronautics Line of Business, Aero Codes and procedures
  • Experience with CNC milling, NC programming and machining operations equipment (Multi-axis, Autodrills, Water Jet, etc)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize requests across departments or sites
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high performing engineering/operations teams, manage budgets, and influence cross functional stakeholders
  • Experience interfacing with executive leadership across functions and lines of business
  • Experience with Earned Value Management/Cost Account Management
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
