Summary

Responsible for

Summary

Responsible for creating part drawings and CNC programs using CAD/CAM software. Utilize G-Code/M-Code programming for various machine control systems and perform necessary post-process edits. Determine complete manufacturing processes for new products-from initial fixture/work holding through final machining. Develop and maintain tooling lists based on CNC programs. Evaluate and update job standards regularly. Support quoting efforts and engineer manufacturing methods. Monitor and control tooling budgets, especially for new purchases.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Including But Not Limited To)

• Analyze and track part production costs; identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Develop detailed work instructions for all manufactured products.
• Possess strong knowledge of tooling, insert usage, and chip breaker functionality.
• Implement and manage process improvements within the manufacturing engineering function.
• Quote components and tooling requirements.
• Perform both online (at the machine) and offline CNC programming.
• Maintain CNC-related documentation using Excel and Word.
• Understand and apply general design concepts related to fixturing and work holding.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, policies, regulations, and work instructions.
• Generate part drawings using CAD/CAM software from supplied blueprints.
• Create accurate and efficient CNC programs and oversee their use in production.
• Build and maintain tooling lists tied to CNC programs.
• Manage CNC program transfers between server and machines; monitor all program changes.
• Document and control edits to CNC code for traceability.
• Establish and manage part-specific manufacturing processes.
• Review, complete, and close production jobs as scheduled.
• Provide support to the Manufacturing Manager as required.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

• Ability to perform all essential duties with a high level of accuracy.

• Excellent mechanical aptitude and conceptual thinking.
• High attention to detail and quality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Epicor, and CAD/CAM software.
• Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Skilled in blueprint reading.
  
  

Education And Experience

• High school diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 2 years of CAD/CAM experience preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of experience operating CNC Lathes and/or Mills.
• Preferred 6 years of experience in work holding and fixturing design.
  
  

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to perform complex calculations and apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Competent in interpreting dimensional data and blueprints.

• Strong analytical skills; able to define problems, gather data, and determine effective solutions.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
• Comfortable interpreting technical data and instructions, including abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to use overhead cranes and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk between buildings, and reach at various heights.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

• Consistent attendance and punctuality are required.
