Location: Buffalo, NY – Remote

Duration: 6 Month – Contract to Hire (CTH)

  • Manage and own critical Smart Factory application supporting plant operations, including application support, development of additional features, and support of application expansion.
  • Implement key Smart Factory technologies through hands on configuration/development and integration with IT systems, and supporting execution of Smart Factory projects.
  • Collaborate effectively with a wide range of business and technical stakeholders at all levels (i.e. Enterprise Architecture, Data & Analytics, Digital Risk Mgmt.) to ensure design and implementation of secure Smart Factory technologies aligning with Enterprise Strategy, adhering to standards and best practices, while maintaining credibility and serving as a trusted adviser.
  • Support activities of internal and external system integrators, developers, and PLC programmers to ensure productivity, proper direction, and adherence to standards for project related activities.
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships, driving project execution, accountability for deliverables, adherence to quality, and meeting targeted business objectives.
  • Lead activities of system integrators, (on shore and offshore) developers, and PLC programmers to ensure productivity, proper direction, and adherence to standards for project related activities.
  • Develops and executes high level testing plans for integration and system testing in order to identify potential defects and minimize problems within the application after it is implemented; coordinates and supervises testing activities.
  • Writing functional and/or technical specifications related to system requirements or change / enhancements.
  • Clearly communicates business and technical concepts, including the use of context diagrams, development of application support documentation, and use of tools to communicate effectively.
  • May be responsible for daily support/maintenance of newly implemented Smart Factory systems

Role 5 : Smart Factory Systems Engineer

Location: Buffalo, NY – Remote

Key Accountabilities/Outcomes

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

Required

  • Experience developing in the following: .Net, MVC, C#, Angular, TypeScript, Azure (ADF, WebApp), (Bootstrap, jQuery and AJAX preferred), Azure SQL Server
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, MIS, CS or related field, or demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in application development, and/or system integration.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects from inception to completion, including external vendor management, following Waterfall and/or Agile management methodologies ensuring completion to meet targeted business objectives.
  • Strong cross-cultural agility, business acumen, and strong leadership/ influencing skills - proven track record of acting as a valued partner to senior leadership.
  • In depth and broad knowledge of computing technologies, PC, applications, networks and other related systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to technologists.

Preferred

  • Experience in Manufacturing Operations.
  • Understanding of the different types of agile principles, methodologies, and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at the enterprise level.
  • Experience with implementing smart manufacturing, digitalization, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership; proven track record of leading complex, multidisciplinary talent teams in new endeavors and delivering solutions.

  • Passion for innovation, learning new technology, and willingness to take risks.
  • Experience with defining enterprise-wide Smart Factory solutions based on loosely defined requirements. Strategy setting and future visioning could be a significant component of this position.
