Job summary

Brightpath Associates LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to apply Lean Manufacturing principles to safety, quality, cost, and delivery improvements. You will design and validate test equipment for electromechanical actuators, troubleshoot across mechanical, electrical, and software domains, and develop automated test solutions using LabVIEW.

Job description

The Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical expertise to support and improve the manufacturing of existing and new products, as well as associated processes. The role focuses on applying Lean Manufacturing principles to improve Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery objectives.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and validate new manufacturing test equipment and Automated Test Procedure (ATP) stands for electromechanical actuator products.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize existing test equipment by diagnosing issues across electronic, software, and mechanical systems.
  • Develop automated test solutions using LabVIEW or similar graphical programming tools.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing, quality, and product support teams to ensure test systems meet safety, reliability, and compliance requirements.
  • Support calibration, maintenance, and lifecycle management of test hardware and software.
  • Document test system requirements, design specifications, operating procedures, and validation results in accordance with applicable regulatory and quality standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance test efficiency, reliability, productivity, and manufacturability.
  • Ensure all test equipment complies with required safety and regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to technicians and junior engineers involved in test equipment operation, maintenance, or assembly.
  • Create, update, and maintain operator manuals, technical documents, and procedures related to test equipment.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to identify process improvements, reduce waste, and improve overall manufacturing performance.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in an Engineering-related field, or
  • 3–5 years of experience in machining, manufacturing, assembly, or a related engineering environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of engineering blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Experience with LabVIEW or similar test automation/programming tools is preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing test equipment, electromechanical systems, and troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software domains.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technicians, engineers, management, and cross-functional teams at all levels.
