Job description

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the full lifecycle of manufacturing operations, from process and equipment development through installation, commissioning, production startup, and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for owning one or more manufacturing processes, translating development concepts into stable, scalable, and repeatable production systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, project ownership, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing solutions.

Core Responsibilities
  • Equipment & Vendor Selection: Evaluate manufacturing equipment and suppliers, compare technical and commercial proposals, and support equipment selection to meet production, quality, and scalability requirements.
  • Process Ownership: Lead the development, implementation, qualification, and ongoing support of assigned manufacturing processes, including equipment specifications, commissioning, process validation, and production readiness.
  • Process Optimization: Analyze manufacturing performance and identify opportunities to improve throughput, quality, reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Project Management: Manage engineering projects by coordinating schedules, budgets, technical deliverables, and cross-functional activities to support business objectives.
  • Production Startup: Provide hands‑on support during equipment installation, commissioning, and production ramp‑up, resolving technical issues and improving process stability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with engineering, operations, and product development teams to implement process improvements, new technologies, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Safety & Quality: Ensure manufacturing processes comply with applicable safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Travel: Occasional travel may be required to support equipment reviews, supplier visits, installations, or factory acceptance testing (FAT).
Typical Deliverables

You may be responsible for developing, reviewing, or maintaining documentation such as:

  • Process Documentation: Process Flow Diagrams, Line Layouts, Bills of Process (BOP), Process Instructions, Cycle Time Studies, and Process Simulations.
  • Engineering Documentation: CAD Models and Drawings, Electrical Schematics, Pneumatic Diagrams, and supporting engineering calculations.
  • Quality Documentation: Control Plans, Gage R&R Studies, Inspection Checklists, and Process Validation Documentation.
  • Operations Documentation: Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Calibration Procedures, Preventive Maintenance Documentation, Spare Parts Lists, Bills of Materials (BOM), and Maintenance Manuals.
  • Controls & Manufacturing Systems: HMI Documentation, Automation Support Documentation, Vision System Programs, and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) documentation, as applicable.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, automation, or a related engineering role.
  • Proficiency with CAD software for equipment design, layout, or manufacturing support.
  • Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, process validation, and manufacturing process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing documentation, including PFMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions, and Process Flow Diagrams.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and develop electrical schematics and pneumatic diagrams, with knowledge of fundamental engineering calculations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing, automated production, material processing, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with custom manufacturing equipment, automation systems, or production line development.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools for process modeling, workflow analysis, or line balancing.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), data collection, or production system integration.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
