Job summary

Image Associates Inc. in Grand Prairie, TX, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to coordinate activities across systems fabrication, tooling, welding, painting, robotics, and mechanical assembly.

You will provide engineering support to improve product quality and reduce production costs, develop work instructions, and help implement lean manufacturing, line balancing, and process flow improvements in an automated environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Welding Engineering, or similar field (partial degree considered).
  • At least three years' manufacturing engineering experience, preferably with steel fabrication or assembly.
  • Experience in automated environments.
  • Experience setting time standards, lean manufacturing, line balancing, and process flow.
  • Some travel to other company locations, about 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities across systems fabrication, tooling, welding, painting, robotics, and mechanical assembly.
  • Assist in automation projects and write PLC/CNC control logic.
  • Conduct studies to maximize workflow and process utilization.
  • Develop work instructions, tooling, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Review production reports and help reduce costs and prevent delays.
  • Develop safe work practices and identify quality improvements.
  • Work with employees to resolve problems and minimize grievances.

Job description

Steel fabrication company needs a Manufacturing Engineer to coordinate activities including systems fabrication, tooling, welding, painting, robotics, and mechanical assembly. Will provide engineering support to improve product quality and reduce production costs.

Relocation assistance may be available. Sorry, but there is no visa support available.

  • Work on plant layout and process improvement projects.
  • Will work on automation or robotics projects. Must have some ability to write control logic for PLC's and CNC control.
  • Conducts studies to maximize workflow and process utilization.
  • Ensures that product designs, documentation, and assembly instructions are accurate, maintained, and effective.
  • Develops work instructions, designs assembly fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Reviews production reports and solves manufacturing and maintenance problems, reducing costs and preventing shipping delays.
  • Develops safe work practices. Seek opportunities for improvements in product and process quality.
  • Works with employees to resolve problems and avoid grievances.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Welding Engineering, or similar field. Will consider partial degree.
  • Should have at least three years' manufacturing engineering experience, preferably with fabricated or assembled products made of steel or steel parts.
  • Should have experience working in an automated environment.
  • Must have experience setting time standards, lean manufacturing, line balancing, and process flow.
  • Some travel to other company locations, maybe 10%.
