Job summary

Quest Global is seeking an engineer to support manufacturing processes for turbine generator parts at our Fort Payne, Alabama site. You will collaborate with MEs to document processes and produce detailed work instructions for the factory floor.

You will work with the team to improve safety, quality, reduce cycle times, and cut costs, while assisting maintenance with troubleshooting and tooling design as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing/shop floor experience.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support to manufacturing processes for turbine generator parts.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers to document processes and issue detailed work instructions for the factory floor.
  • Work with the manufacturing team to improve safety, quality, cycle times, and costs.
  • Assist maintenance with troubleshooting and tooling procurement as needed.
  • Identify needs for new equipment and processes to stay competitive.
  • Support day-to-day operations in stator coil manufacturing area.
  • Drive process improvements and challenge the status quo.

What You Will Do


  • Provide daily support to the manufacturing processes used to produce parts for turbine generators.

  • Work together with MEs to capture processes to manufacture new generators as well as service by creating and issuing detailed work instructions to factory floor operations.

  • Work with the manufacturing team to improve safety, improve quality, reduce cycle times, and reduce manufacturing costs.

  • Assist the maintenance team with troubleshooting process equipment. Design and procure tooling as needed to support the manufacturing processes.

  • Identify and evaluate the needs for new equipment and new manufacturing processes to enhance competitiveness.

  • Support day-to-day tactical support of area responsible for the stator coil manufacturing.

  • Support quality and ability to drive process improvements will be an integral part of the success

  • Challenge the status quo and look for new, innovative ways to manufacture our customer products.


What You Will Bring


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Knowledgeable in 3D CAD software and Microsoft Office.

  • Min. 2 yrs. Experience in Manufacturing & shop floor

  • Excellent written and verbal communications.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to a changing work environment.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.


Pay Range: $67K to $80K/annum

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.


Work Requirements

This role is considered an on-site position located in Fort Payne, Alabama


  • You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.

  • Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.


Travel requirements:

Due to the nature of the work, no travel is required.
