Job description

Responsibilities

Analyze blueprints, specifications, model files, and other documentation to prepare accurate simulations and supportive data sets or process models for manufacturing projects, particularly those involving insert injection molding of thermoplastics, precision machined components, and/or complex sub‑assemblies for the MedTech industry.

Integrate fully as a partner to Business Development and Solutions Architecture Teams, with the primary objective to drive new business opportunities, sales expansion, and further increase competitive advantage through systems engineering and application of Industry 4.0 practices.

Collaborate with engineering, production, procurement, and accounting teams to gather actual cost data and historical summaries of previously quoted business, including tooling costs, lead times, engineering resource utilization, and achieved manufacturing standards relative to those estimated, with the purpose of refining new business and existing business quotations to drive growth.

Partner with IT/ERP Teams and manufacturing to expand the use of existing systems for real‑time data collection, and adoption of new systems for manufacturing data acquisition and process optimization modeling.

Utilize software tools and engineering knowledge to develop detailed cost models for materials, labor, equipment, and other resources, looking for optimization opportunities.

Identify the best possible manufacturing processes and evaluate based on a wholistic process flow, all process steps, equipment, and manufacturing processes for optimized efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Generate internal business cases, including projected ROI for CapEx spending justification in collaboration with Accounting Partners; and “preferred site” status for manufacturing based on costs, labor availability, and capacity utilization.

Utilize SolidWorks, CAD/CAM software packages for product DFM, and conceptualization of proposals.

Utilize and/or identify and deploy software tools to facilitate data acquisition and analysis, such as Minitab, Sage, Flexsim, Paperless parts or similar.
