We are currently seeking a skilled Manufacturing Industrial Engineer to contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality, engineered solutions to customers worldwide. This role focuses on simulation and data analytics for developing vertically integrated manufacturing solutions for MedTech, Implantable, and Drug Delivery / Wearables market segments. The role follows Lean Six Sigma principles such as waste identification, value streams, productivity optimization, kanban, takt time studies, labor tracking, ergonomics, material flow, pFMEA, and related tools. It also supports new business development with accurate costing proposals and opportunities for value-analysis / value engineering to drive future cost savings and scalability.
Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, model files (CAD) and other documentation to prepare accurate simulations and data sets for manufacturing projects, including insert injection molding of thermoplastics, precision machined components, and complex sub-assemblies for the MedTech industry
- Collaborate with Business Development and Solutions Architecture Teams to drive new business opportunities and expand sales using systems engineering and Industry 4.0 practices
- Work with engineering, production, procurement and accounting teams to gather actual cost data and historical quotations to refine new and existing proposals for growth
- Partner with IT / ERP Teams and manufacturing to expand real-time data collection and adopt new systems for data acquisition and process optimization
- Develop detailed cost models for materials, labor, equipment, and other resources to identify optimization opportunities
- Evaluate process flows and equipment for optimized efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Generate internal business cases and ROI for CapEx spending; assess site options based on costs, labor availability, and capacity
- Utilize SolidWorks, CAD/CAM tools for product DFM and proposal conceptualization
- Use tools to facilitate data acquisition and analysis (e.g., Minitab, Sage, Flexsim, Paperless Parts or similar)
- Prepare and present evaluations, simulations, and proposals to management and clients
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and cost estimation practices
- Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of estimates and cost-saving proposals
- Maintain streamlined and agile processes for estimating and ongoing proposals for customer reviews
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Systems, or Value Engineering)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in value engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing costing, with exposure to Industry 4.0+ practices
- Experience working for a Contract Manufacturer or OEM
- Strong engineering background with understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Ability to identify optimal manufacturing processes
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or CAD/CAM for estimating and DFM
- Experience in product-level design for manufacture (DFM)
- Ability to collaborate across Centers of Excellence for multi-plant proposals
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of cost estimation standards and practices
- Understanding of regulatory and quality requirements for MedTech (ISO13485; FDA; CFR 820 Part 11; GxP; MedAccred)
This position is located at our Fairfield, NJ location.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range: $90,000 - $130,000 per year
