Job description

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer will work within the Engineering Department to create and evaluate existing manufacturing processes for vertical and horizontal lathes, and multi-axis milling machines.

Responsibilities
  • Develop cost effective manufacturing process to support 4-5 axis machining centers
  • Design cost effective and quick changeover manufacturing fixtures and tooling
  • Create shop floor documentation including operation sheets and work instructions
  • Implement cost reduction initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Initiate corrective actions to floor processes
  • Cost estimating and quoting
  • Participation in lean and continuous improvement events
Qualifications
  • Experience with Aerospace materials
  • Proficient with Unigraphics NX4-5, CAM and 3D modeling
  • Must be accustomed to deadlines and accountability
  • Experience with complex aerospace parts including milling and turning processes
  • Lean manufacturing techniques
  • Effective time management skills including multi-tasking
  • Ability to read blueprints. Speak and write reports in English.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Develop and follow procedures.
