Job summary

Our client, an international automotive supplier, seeks an experienced EHS professional for the Rochester Hills, Michigan facility. The role requires ownership of EHS programs, ISO 14001 compliance, and leadership of safety initiatives in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include environmental management, audits, training (including LOTO), and ESG reporting, with MIOSHA and regulatory compliance as core focus areas. Competitive benefits and PTO are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of hands-on EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading or owning plant safety programs.
• Automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with safety training, incident investigations, audits and regulatory compliance.
• Strong knowledge of MIOSHA regulations.
• Experience maintaining ISO 14001 certification and Environmental Management Systems.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and local environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Environmental, Health & Safety activities to ensure compliance with all regulations.
• Maintain and support the Environmental Management System including ISO 14001.
• Monitor environmental controls and support environmental performance goals.
• Lead safety initiatives focused on accident prevention, ergonomics, and employee well-being.
• Conduct safety audits, emergency drills, and safety training, including LOTO and other programs.
• Support layout changes and new equipment installations for EHS compliance.
• Develop and maintain business continuity and emergency response plans.
• Coordinate ESG reporting and support local sustainability initiatives.
• Maintain the Document Control System and ensure proper document management.
• Coordinate with contractors, MIOSHA, emergency responders, and regulators on EHS matters.
