Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Spring 2027 Manufacturing Design Engineer Co-op in Fort Worth, TX as part of the Operations Leadership Development Program. You will design tooling, fixtures, and assembly aids, create 3D CAD models with Autodesk Inventor, and evaluate manufacturing processes to develop practical engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Industrial Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related majors.
• Must be enrolled as a student at the University of Texas Arlington at the time of the co-op.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing engineering concepts, tools, processes, and 3D modeling.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing tooling, fixtures, and assembly aids to improve safety, quality, productivity, and ergonomics.
• Create 3D CAD models and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes and production challenges to develop practical engineering solutions.
• Develop and assess design concepts based on manufacturing, safety, quality, and ergonomic requirements.
• Collaborate with production, manufacturing engineering, quality, maintenance, and other stakeholders throughout the design process.
• Support design reviews, prototype fabrication, testing, and validation of manufacturing solutions.
• Implement and validate tooling and fixtures on the production floor.
• Apply continuous improvement and problem-solving methods to improve manufacturing processes and productivity.
• Document designs, engineering changes, and implementation activities in accordance with Siemens standards.
