Job summary

Sterling Engineering is seeking a hands-on Data Analyst with 10+ years of U.S. experience to develop dashboards, analyze operational data, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership. The role requires a manufacturing background and 100% onsite work in Waukegan, IL.

The position focuses on building Power BI dashboards, writing SQL queries, and transforming large datasets. You will partner with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement on the shop floor and across operations.

Qualifications

• Proven data analysis experience in manufacturing environments.
• Must have MES experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Data cleansing, transformation, validation and analysis.
• KPI and dashboard development and reporting.
• Experience combining data from multiple systems/sources.
• Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills.
• Experience gathering requirements directly from business stakeholders.
• Ability to work 100% onsite in Waukegan, IL.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and KPI reporting.
• Write SQL queries to extract and analyze data.
• Clean, transform, validate, and reconcile large datasets.
• Identify trends, performance gaps, and root causes.
• Automate recurring reporting and improve existing dashboards.
• Translate business needs into reporting and analytics solutions.
• Present findings to business and operations leadership.
• Support operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
