Job summary

Sterling Engineering is seeking a hands-on Data Analyst with 10+ years of U.S. experience to develop dashboards, analyze operational data, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership. The role requires a manufacturing background and 100% onsite work in Waukegan, IL.

The position focuses on building Power BI dashboards, writing SQL queries, and transforming large datasets. You will partner with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement on the shop floor and across operations.

Qualifications

• Proven data analysis experience in manufacturing environments.
• Must have MES experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Data cleansing, transformation, validation and analysis.
• KPI and dashboard development and reporting.
• Experience combining data from multiple systems/sources.
• Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills.
• Experience gathering requirements directly from business stakeholders.
• Ability to work 100% onsite in Waukegan, IL.

Responsibilities

Position: Data Analyst – Power BI & SQL & MES

Duration: 36-Month Contract

This is NOT open for sponsorship or 3rd party representation.

Local candidates are preferred, must be onsite.

I am looking for a hands‑on Data Analyst with 10+ years U.S. professional experience to develop dashboards, analyze operational data, and provide actionable insights to business and operations leadership. Must come from a Manufacturing background.

QUALIFICATIONS

• SQL – ability to write queries and analyze data
• Must come from a manufacturing background with experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution System)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• Data cleansing, transformation, validation, and analysis
• KPI/dashboard development and reporting
• Experience combining data from multiple systems/sources
• Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills
• Experience gathering requirements directly from business stakeholders
• Ability to work 100% onsite in Waukegan, IL

Preferred skills
