Job summary

Lukjan Metal Products is seeking a Manufacturing Custodian in Kings Mountain, NC to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly facility supporting production, warehouse, and offices.

This full-time role requires at least 40 hours per week with potential overtime. Experience in manufacturing custodial work and safety awareness are essential; HS diploma or GED preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning across production, warehouse, offices, and break areas.

• Sweep floors; remove debris to support safety.
• Disinfect break rooms; restock supplies.
• Operate cleaning equipment including forklifts, scissor lifts, and vacuums as trained.
• Monitor supplies and report hazards.

General Purpose of the Position:

The Custodian, located in our Kings Mountain, NC location, is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment throughout the facility. This role supports production, warehouse, office, and break areas through routine cleaning and sanitation.

This full-time position will work at least 40 hours per week. Additional hours, including overtime, may periodically be expected depending on business needs and projects. The position may also assist with production if needed or if there is additional time in the week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning in production, warehouse, office, and common areas to maintain a safe and organized environment.
• Regularly mop break rooms, offices, and restrooms. No mopping in production or warehouse manufacturing areas.
• Sweep production floors, walk paths and work zones; remove debris to support safety.
• Clean, disinfect, and restock break rooms and restrooms.
• Clean tables, counters, microwaves, refrigerators, and floors in break rooms to maintain a sanitary employee space.
• Regularly dust surfaces, empty trash, clean floors, and keep workspaces tidy within office and manufacturing spaces.
• Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the facility; transport waste to designated disposal areas.
• Wipe down door handles, railings, shared equipment surfaces, and other frequently touched areas.
• Respond promptly to spills using proper containment and cleanup procedures; notify supervisors of hazards.
• Monitor cleaning supply levels and request replenishment when needed.
• Keep entryways, sidewalks, and designated outdoor areas clean and free of litter and debris.
• Operate equipment required for cleaning work, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and industrial vacuum cleaners, as trained and authorized. Use ladders safely as needed.
• Assist with special cleaning projects as needed by the plant.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to drive a forklift and operate small machinery, including a scissor lift, as trained and authorized.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment, buffers, and chemical safety rules.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work at elevated heights.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates should have previous cleaning or custodial experience within a manufacturing environment. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Candidates must be able to regularly lift at least 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, reach, bend, and perform repetitive tasks.

Candidates should demonstrate the ability to adapt and respond positively, effectively, and efficiently to change, delays, and shifting priorities and goals. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization are required.
