Job summary

Lukjan Metal Products, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Wooster, OH. The role focuses on inspecting, maintaining, and repairing production equipment on the floor to ensure peak operation for HVAC sheet metal fabrication.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, plus a craft apprenticeship or equivalent experience, and ideally an AA degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Maintenance. HVAC experience is a plus and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience in general manufacturing equipment, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• AA degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Maintenance is a plus.
• Craft apprenticeship or equivalent education/experience is preferred.
• HVAC experience is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, adjust, maintain, and repair production equipment on the floor.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and plant facilities.
• Install and maintain production machines and equipment.
• Provide emergency repairs and scheduled maintenance during production.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and improve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

General Purpose of the Position:

The Maintenance Technician located in our Wooster, OH location, will primarily work on the production floor and in designated maintenance areas. Maintenance Technicians have a direct impact on the success of Korda Manufacturing/Lukjan Metal Products in assuring the highest quality operation of our production to our customers. Daily, you will inspect, adjust, maintain, and repair various pieces of production equipment that transform sheet metal into pipe, duct, and fittings for HVAC applications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the plant and other maintenance staff by fulfilling maintenance work orders and performing preventative maintenance on various types of machinery, equipment and the facility.
• Install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
• Preventative and predictive maintenance of machines, equipment and plant facilities.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve the processes related to the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust production machinery/workstations.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situation to proper supervision.

Job Requirements:

• Work within established safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with strong interpersonal skills.
• Perform basic administrative skills including documentation of work/repairs performed.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Able to work extended hours and varying shifts as required by production and/or management.
• Able to respond when necessary to building and equipment emergencies/outages.
• Familiar with Safety Data Sheets related to manufacturing

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma/GED is a plus, and completed a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience. An AA degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Maintenance is a plus. Candidates must have at least three (3) years’ experience in general manufacturing equipment, processes, pneumatics, and hydraulics with a willingness to train on proprietary equipment/processes. HVAC experience a plus. Candidates must have the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
