Job summary

HRB in Colorado is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing financial reporting for a public company. You will oversee month-end close, ensure accurate product costing, run variance analyses, and mentor a team of accounting staff.

The role emphasizes POC revenue recognition under US GAAP, close processes, ERP governance (Epicor), and collaboration with Ops, Supply Chain, and Finance to improve profitability and cost control.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Accounting, Finance etc.
• Minimum 5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with POC accounting, long-term contract accounting, revenue recognition, and EAC/ETC forecasting in a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or project-based environment
• Epicor ERP experience preferred
• Advanced competency in Excel required
• Experience managing inventory accounting and inventory controls
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP revenue recognition (ASC 606) and related close/audit requirements

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close processes with journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
• Manage cost accounting activities for manufacturing operations and review variances.
• Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances; monitor COGS and margins.
• Own POC accounting for long-term contracts, revenue recognition schedules, and EAC/ETC forecasts.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, inventory valuation reporting, and close/supporting documentation.
• Oversee ERP system management and ensure accurate integration of manufacturing, inventory, and financial modules.
