Job summary

EIS Wire & Cable Inc. is seeking a cost accountant for our Western Massachusetts facility to monitor, analyze, and improve gross margin and inventory valuation.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing and Operations to maintain BOMs and routings, analyze costs across Manufacturing, Raw Materials, Labor and Overhead, and drive cost improvements. A 4-year degree in accounting/finance and 5+ years cost accounting are required, with strong Excel and Access skills;Experience with FAR/DFAR

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in accounting or finance is required.
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Excel and Access.
• Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain BOMs and routings accuracy with Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations.
• Analyze costs and variances across Manufacturing, Raw Materials, Freight, Inventory, and Labor utilization.
• Drive root-cause analysis to reduce costs across the organization.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis for inventory activities.
• Perform settlement processes to cost inventory production.
• Assist in developing direct labor and overhead rates for annual standard cost rolls.
• Assist in preparation of cost/pricing data for government contracts per FAR/DFAR.
• Follow company policies and safety guidelines.
• Develop financial controls related to costing across departments.
