Job summary

CLA, a national accounting and advisory firm, seeks a Controller with Manufacturing industry experience to join the CAAS practice based in Milwaukee/Wauwatosa, WI. The role involves internal controls, financial planning, and client-facing advisory work.

Required: Bachelor's degree and 7 years of accounting experience in manufacturing; CPA preferred but not required. Travel to client sites and in-office work are involved; QuickBooks and MS Office proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required; CPA preferred but not required.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant accounting/financial experience; manufacturing experience highly preferred.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with accounting software and systems; CPA preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal control policies and procedures for budgeting, cash/credit management, and accounting.
• Coordinate financial planning, budgeting, procurements, or investments and prepare financial information.
• Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and regulatory reports.
• Evaluate funding needs and investment of surpluses; provide recommendations.
• Monitor ratios and KPIs; evaluate accounting staff performance and implement actions.
• Advise management on financial objectives, policies, and actions.
• Regularly communicate with boards, bankers, and investors; prepare for board presentations.
