Job summary

Odessa Separator Inc. is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting function for a growing manufacturing organization in Texas. You will oversee general ledger, close cycles, inventory costing, and internal controls while partnering with operations and leadership to deliver accurate financial information.

Responsibilities include budgeting, audits, ERP system administration, and developing KPIs. A strong background in U.S. GAAP and cost accounting in manufacturing is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Seven or more years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least three years of accounting leadership or supervisory experience.
• Manufacturing, industrial, or distribution accounting experience.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial statement preparation.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
• Manage and improve monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare timely monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Oversee inventory accounting, cycle counts, reserves, and reconciliations.
• Lead standard costing, job costing, and variance analysis.
• Collaborate with manufacturing/operations to improve costing and visibility.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Support banking relationships and cash forecasting.
• Provide leadership and development for accounting staff.
• Lead ERP implementation, optimization, and improvements.
• Develop KPIs and reporting tools to enhance performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, efficiency, and scalability.
