Job summary

VG6 Precision in Tacoma, WA seeks an experienced Controller to oversee accounting operations, with a strong emphasis on cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing controls. This hands-on leadership role reports to the VP of Finance and requires on-site presence.

You will drive close processes, enhance reporting, ensure GAAP compliance, manage internal controls across locations, partner with leaders on cost drivers, and support budgets, forecasts, and acquisitions using SAP B1.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CMA/MBA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing or multi-site operations.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and internal controls expertise.
• Experience with SAP B1 and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to handle large data sets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, AP, AR, cash, fixed assets, inventory, and close processes.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Develop cost accounting processes for manufacturing including standard vs actual costs.
• Prepare reports, budgets, forecasts, and analyses for leadership.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and strong internal controls across locations.
• Manage interactions with auditors, tax advisors, banks, and lenders.
• Support acquisitions, integrations, and system changes.
• Utilize SAP B1 to improve data accuracy and reporting.
