Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group is seeking a hands-on Controller for a rapidly growing manufacturing organization in Denver, CO. The role will build the accounting function from the ground up, establish policies and scalable financial processes, and prepare for the company’s first financial audit.

As the finance lead, you will oversee general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll, and internal controls, drive an ERP implementation, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, collaborate with operations on cost and capital

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA required.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience in a growing company.
• Strong cost and manufacturing accounting background.
• Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience leading ERP implementations or major financial system transitions.
• Hands-on leadership style with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage internal accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and reconciliations.
• Establish accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support scaling.
• Develop monthly/quarterly/annual close processes with clear timelines.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Lead preparation for external financial audits.
• Own ERP implementation and financial system transitions.
• Partner with operations, supply chain, and engineering to ensure accurate data flow.
• Track inventory, fixed assets, and capital project spending.
• Develop capital expenditure processes and asset depreciation.
• Support project accounting including construction-in-progress.
• Collaborate with leadership to translate financial results into insights.
• Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team.
