Job summary

MAC Incorporated in Bethany, CT, is seeking a Project Engineering Manager to lead the capital expenditure portfolio and provide engineering support for design, installation, and startup of new and improved manufacturing processes and equipment.

The role requires steering multiple CAPEX projects from concept through completion with a strong focus on safety, quality, reliability, cost, and operational efficiency, while mentoring engineering teams and coordinating with operations and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required; PM background preferred.
• 5+ years of process manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience with design, acquisition, installation, and start-up of industrial equipment and processes.
• Strong capital project management, budgeting, scheduling, and cost-control skills.
• Able to lead multiple projects with limited supervision and communicate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage facility capital expenditure plans.
• Lead capital projects from scope through installation and start-up.
• Develop budgets, schedules, cost-benefit analyses, and CAPEX justifications.
• Create equipment layouts and process designs.
• Evaluate and select manufacturing equipment, vendors and contractors.
• Manage project scope, schedule, cost, and change control to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Coordinate equipment installations with contractors, Operations, and Maintenance.
• Support equipment and process commissioning, start-up, and transition to Operations.
• Drive OEE, production efficiency, yield, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
