Job summary

Boss Products, a leading US manufacturer near San Antonio, TX, seeks a proactive Manufacturing Buyer to manage procurement of raw materials, components, MRO supplies, and outsourced services to support manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate blends strong analytical skills with supplier management; you will balance quality, cost, and delivery performance in a fast-paced environment while supporting production schedules and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's in supply chain, business, or related field preferred.
• 3-5+ years in purchasing, procurement, planning, inventory control, or SCM in manufacturing.
• Experience buying manufactured components, raw materials, and MRO supplies; ERP/MRP experience required.

Responsibilities

• Review production requirements and schedules to ensure materials are available.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing issues and prevent disruptions.
• Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and process improvements.
• Evaluate methods and implement improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
• Troubleshoot material issues, conduct root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.
• Maintain standard work, procedures, and process documentation.
• Work with suppliers to meet engineering, quality, and production requirements.
• Support supplier qualification, evaluation, and performance improvement.
• Coordinate supplier communications regarding changes, specs, and delivery performance.
• Assist in alternative sourcing and supplier problem-solving related to quality and delivery.
• Review MRP recommendations and schedules for material availability.
• Monitor inventory levels and investigate shortages and discrepancies.
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, etc.).
• Maintain ERP/MRP data, BOMs, routings, lead times, and planning parameters.
