Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas Inc in Minnesota is seeking a Buyer to join our in‑office team in Faribault or Owatonna. You will influence purchasing of materials and services and support growth across a leading HVAC organization.

Responsibilities include supplier market analysis, issuing POs, negotiating quotes, maintaining vendor data, and ensuring contract alignment and quality with internal partners. We offer comprehensive benefits: medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with company match, paid time off

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business administration or related fields.
• 3+ year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that company standard procedures are followed in connection with purchases of material and services.
• Analyzes market conditions and trends; explores sources of supply; processes requests for all products and commodities.
• Prepares and issues purchase orders and requisitions; secures price advantages of quantity buying; composes and edits specifications; solicits formal and informal bids in accordance with standard procedures and compares and analyzes price quotations.
• Follows up and maintains current and accurate database information, vendor lead times, open purchases, commitments, and shortages.
• Updates and maintains inventory maintenance within the software system.
• Maintains data, prepares reports and analyzes information using available software in decision-making.
• Studies products usage: determines vendor from whom purchases will be made; places orders; negotiates and renews contracts; investigates complaints and secures adjustments.
• Processes and analyzes high profile contracts with other members of the team.
• Resolves vendor quality issues and tracks and documents results and vendor performance.
• Initiates quality programs that benefit vendor relationships while improving the quality for customer.

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $53,500 to $108,800 in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment requirements, including verification of employment history, education, background screening, and drug testing where permitted by law. Safety-sensitive positions may require cannabis (marijuana) testing. All testing and employment decisions will comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
