Job description

All About You

As a Manufacturing/Automation Engineer, Level 1, you are a professional who is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing the procedures involved in manufacturing processes. The duties include researching automation techniques to maximize the efficiency of production lines. Support the manufacturing activities with assistance in the areas of product flow, tooling and fixtures. You will also take into account how manufacturing processes impact the environment. You may design machines and equipment and obtain required certifications (e.g., laser, X-ray). Implement efficiencies and ergonomic improvements.

Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering (or related field)
  • 1-4 years in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design
  • Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
  • Well-versed in relevant software (e.g., SolidWorks, MS Office)
  • Project management skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Teamwork skills
  • Maybe required to work overtime or off shift hours
  • Excellent communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Evaluating manufacturing processes
  • Developing effective automated and non-automated systems
  • Design and install equipment.
  • Resolve issues and delays in production.
  • May lead automation projects.
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing in order to ensure maximum throughput, efficiency and quality
  • Assist in the development of new products in order to ensure their ability to be manufactured efficiently.
  • Manage improvement projects in order to reduce costs and improve product quality
  • Support the maintenance department on technical issues in order to decrease downtime and increase production efficiency through timely maintenance
  • Train staff in new and existing processes
  • Collaborate with other engineers, contractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations.
