At Precision Aerospace, a Precinmac Company, we serve aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and automation customers from AS9100-certified, Texas-based facilities—where quality, consistency, and delivery are non-negotiable.Is this you?Do you thrive leading multi-discipline maintenance teams and solving cross-functional problems with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Operations?Can you translate PdM signals—vibration, thermal, oil, spindle monitoring—into actions that prevent downtime?Are you comfortable owning the lifecycle of 130+ CNC assets, from EDM cells to 5-axis machining centers and CMMs?Do you enjoy building PM programs, sharpening MTTR/MTBF KPIs, and keeping impeccable CMMS/ERP records for audits?What you’ll take onReliability and operationsLead maintenance for EDM (wire and sinker), turning/lathe centers, 4-axis and 5-axis mills, CMMs, and assembly support systems.Design and continuously refine PM programs across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and coolant systems.Deploy predictive methods—vibration, thermal imaging, oil analysis, and spindle condition monitoring—to extend machine life.Respond decisively to breakdowns and drive MTTR/MTBF improvements that protect production schedules.Oversee HVAC, compressed air, electrical distribution, coolant/filtration systems, overhead cranes, and forklifts.Engage OEMs and field service for rebuilds, spindle replacements, control upgrades, and specialized repairs.Quality integrationKeep maintenance and calibration practices aligned with AS9100 Rev D requirements.Manage calibration for CMMs, gauges, torque tools, and measuring instruments with the Quality team; ensure NIST traceability.Write and update SOPs/work instructions; maintain equipment records to satisfy internal and external audits.Support investigations of NCRs/CARs tied to equipment or processes; lead RCA and corrective actions.Maintain audit-ready maintenance histories and calibration certificates in the CMMS/ERP.People, planning, and improvementLead, mentor, and evaluate technicians; assign work orders and provide technical direction.Upskill the team in CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain), PLC troubleshooting, and machine tool systems.Set on-call and emergency coverage that supports all shifts; champion LOTO/TAGOUT, PPE, and OSHA compliance.Own the annual maintenance budget—labor, spares, tooling, contractors—and recommend capital projects.Establish a critical spares strategy that balances cost and uptime requirements.Use CMMS data and OEE to prioritize CI projects that modernize equipment and eliminate chronic failures.Partner with Manufacturing Engineering on capability studies, process changes, and new equipment qualification/installation.Contribute to facilities planning for new equipment installs, line reconfigurations, and expansion initiatives.EHS and regulatoryEnsure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable local/state regulations including hazardous waste, chemical safety, and environmental controls.Participate in EHS inspections, safety audits, and incident investigations; follow through on corrective actions.Manage contractor safety compliance for on-site maintenance and construction.QualificationsRequiredBS in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Technology or related; or AS plus 8+ years of equivalent maintenance leadership in manufacturing.7+ years in precision manufacturing maintenance, including 3+ years leading teams.Hands-on with CNC turning centers, 4-axis and 5-axis machining centers, EDM (wire and/or sinker), and CMMs.Comfort with Fanuc, Siemens, and Heidenhain controls; capable of troubleshooting servo drives, spindles, and electrical/hydraulic systems.Experience in AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar QMS environments.CMMS proficiency for work orders, PM scheduling, and asset history tracking.Strong foundation in electrical systems, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical power transmission.Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, spares, and contractors.Solid understanding of OSHA, LOTO/TAGOUT, machine safeguarding, and industrial safety practices.PreferredAerospace/defense/space manufacturing background with AS9100 Rev D internal audit exposure.Experience with high-precision 5-axis platforms.CMM maintenance, qualification, and calibration (Zeiss, Hexagon, Brown & Sharpe, or equivalent).Knowledge of SPC, OEE, and RCM.CMRP, CRL, or equivalent certifications.ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, Epicor or similar) integrated with maintenance modules.ITAR awareness and prior work in controlled defense manufacturing.Ready to build what’s next with us?
