Job summary

Torrey Holistics in California seeks a seasoned CNC shop leader to guide a multi-axis milling team in aerospace-focused manufacturing. You’ll train machinists, drive Lean initiatives, and ensure AS9100/FAA compliance while improving throughput and quality.

You will partner with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve nonconformances, manage uptime, and deliver on KPIs. This hands-on role demands strong leadership and rich CNC expertise for complex aerospace parts.

Qualifications

• 10+ years CNC machining experience; aerospace preferred.
• 2+ years supervising in a machining setting.
• Advanced knowledge of CNC milling, multi-axis machining, and aerospace-grade materials/tooling.
• Expertise in blueprint reading, GD&T, and precision machining standards.
• Working mastery of AS9100 requirements and FAA compliance.
• Analytical problem-solver with strong troubleshooting and conflict-resolution skills.
• Excellent communicator and organizer.
• Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma experience a plus.
• ERP/MRP proficiency and familiarity with production reporting tools.
• Hands-on, mechanically savvy leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Lead CNC milling operations to plan, meet schedule, cost, and aerospace-grade quality goals.
• Mentor machinists, programmers, and technicians to raise skills and accountability.
• Drive Lean/5S implementations and continuous improvement across the shop.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain on NPI, process capability, and NCR/MRB resolution.
• Track KPIs, maintain shop-floor records, and manage materials flow.
