Job summary

Axalta is seeking a Manufacturing Area Engineer for our Front Royal, VA facility. The role focuses on site engineering, maintenance coordination, and formal project management from scope to commissioning.

You will develop cost estimates and lead multidisciplinary design efforts in a fast-paced plant environment. The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree or 5 years of project engineering experience, with strong communication and influencing skills.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering degree preferred or 5 years of relevant project engineering experience.
• Industrial plant experience in chemical processing preferred.
• Good communication and presentation skills (oral and written).
• Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to influence managers, peers, and maintenance team.
• Ability to utilize other software tools as appropriate SAP, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, Visio, Outlook, SharePoint)

Responsibilities

• Work with site engineering & maintenance resources to develop scope and objectives.
• Follow process and identify phases and design requirements.
• Develop estimates including equipment, construction and commissioning cost.
• Perform financial analysis.
• Provide leadership through the approval process.
• Coordinate Mechanical, Process & Electrical design with in-house and contracted resources.
• Assist with providing daily construction management support.
• Maintains project design and commissioning documentation.
