Job summary

Bird is seeking a Manufacturing Apprentice for a part-time second shift in Solon, OH. This role supports daily production, learns foundational technical skills, and trains under mentorship in manufacturing, machining, assembly, quality, or industrial operations.

The apprentice will learn company processes, safety standards, and basic equipment operation while assisting experienced team members and documenting production and training activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Interest in manufacturing or industrial operations.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong attendance and reliability.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, or production activities as assigned.
• Learn and follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and work instructions.
• Operate basic manufacturing tools and equipment under supervision.
• Read and interpret basic drawings, work orders, and production documentation.
• Support material handling, inventory organization, and workstation setup.
• Perform routine inspections and report quality or production issues.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S standards.
• Participate in training programs related to manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Work collaboratively with production, engineering, quality, and maintenance personnel.
• Assist with continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.
• Accurately complete production and training records.
