Job summary

AtWork Personnel | Charlotte East is partnering with a growing, product-based manufacturing organization in the Charlotte area to hire an experienced Accounting Manager. This hands-on leadership role focuses on driving timely financial reporting, internal controls, and accurate accounting across AR, AP, and the general ledger.

You will manage a team, partner with Finance leadership, and lead process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years of accounting leadership or supervisory experience.
• Manufacturing or product-based industry experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
• SAP or comparable ERP experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong financial analysis.
• Excellent organizational, communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee core accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Lead and train the accounting team, including AR and AP personnel.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and internal controls.
• Support audits with PBC schedules and supporting docs.
• Oversee inventory accounting and related closings.
• Coordinate filings like 1099s and tax returns.
• Drive improvements in processes and internal controls.
• Support ERP enhancements, automation, and SAP projects.
• Provide profitability and cost analysis.
