Job summary

Machinery Manufacturing Company in the Bay Area seeks an Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller to own day-to-day accounting and support the finance lead.

You'll manage full month-end and year-end closes, ensure accurate inventory accounting in a manufacturing ERP, lead an AP/AR team, and handle fixed assets, depreciation, and journal entries while supporting audits and tax reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2-3 years in a leadership role.
• Manufacturing or inventory-based accounting experience required.
• Strong Excel and ERP experience.
• CPA or CMA a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage full month-end and year-end close
• Own accounting accuracy for inventory, WIP, and cost of sales in a manufacturing ERP
• Lead an AP/AR team, including process and escalation ownership
• Manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and journal entries
• Support tax season, audits, and monthly sales tax review
• Deliver budget-vs-actual reporting to department managers
• Build documented processes where none currently exist
